“Established in 2023, the Gavin Worland Combo Collective (GWCC) is a fluid musical democracy that combines freedom and collective music making into one ensemble. The unique instrumentation is the result of many ideas to get a pleasurable amount of aural texture for the listener while maximizing the playability and overall fun for everyone. The group's founding member, Gavin Worland is a multi-skilled 21st-century musician as a bandleader, trumpeter, composer, arranger, producer, and educator based out of Longmont, Colorado currently finishing his B.A. in Jazz Trumpet Performance from MSU Denver. His motivation to create this collective of like-minded musicians is to provide a one-of-a-kind sonic experience for everyone to enjoy while setting their differences aside highlighting music as the shared common love. The GWCC is heavily inspired by musicians and creators such as John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Kamasi Washington, and Ron Miles to name a few.”
