come together: 150 years of the emmanuel
June 18-September 19, 2026
Opening reception | June 18, 2026 – 4:00-7:00 pm
For 150 years, the Emmanuel has been a space where people have gathered—to worship, to build community, and to create and experience art. Come Together celebrates the vibrant history of the Emmanuel building¾its inception as an Episcopal church (1876–93), its fifty plus year history as a synagogue (1903–58), its time as an artist studio for Wolfgang and Susan Pogzeba, and since 1976 as the Emmanuel Art Gallery on the Auraria Campus. The exhibition highlights the building’s legacy and the vibrant exhibition history of the gallery, reflecting on the varying ways we come together.
Come Together features the work of Bill Adams, August Balderrama, JayCee Beyale, Isabella Briganti, Trine Bumiller, Fike & Harris, Donald Fodness, Melissa Furness & Rian Kerrane, Carlos Fresquez, Adam Geluda Gildar, David Griggs, Jann Haworth, Max Kauffman, Sammy Seung-min Lee, and Laura Shill & John Lake.
