As art galleries go, Emmanuel was tops...
Emmanuel Gallery was nominated as top art space of the year by the Denver Post in its "Best of the Year 06" article dated December 24, 2006. Kyle MacMillan, art critic, tapped Shannon Corrigan, curator and director of the gallery, as its driving force in gaining recognition for the gallery. MacMillian cited that she has instituted an "ambitious exhibition schedule that has significantly boosted the space's role in the local 'visual arts' scene" in Denver, and has "prompted more people to take notice" of what is happening on the Auraria campus "that was too easily overlooked before." The gallery's fall exhibition, Treasures Revealed: The Arts of Hungary, 1890-1955 also took top honors in the "Top 10 Front-Range exhibitions" of 2006.
